Located in the Springfield area, this opportunity involves providing crucial social and emotional support within a high school setting. As a school-based clinician, the role focuses on delivering individual and group counseling to help students navigate behavioral and emotional challenges, while also managing crisis situations. The position carries a caseload of approximately 24 high school students and operates on a drop-in model, enabling timely intervention and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct individual counseling sessions addressing social, emotional, and behavioral needs of high school students
- Facilitate small group interventions to promote peer support and skill development
- Manage crisis situations effectively, ensuring student safety and well-being
- Maintain accurate documentation of student interactions and progress
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student success
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Holds a Masters degree in Psychology, Social Work, or Counseling
- Demonstrated school-based clinician experience, preferably with high school students
- Strong skills in social work, behavioral support, and crisis intervention
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to professional ethical standards
- Reliable transportation and punctuality for consistent attendance
- Commitment to passing required drug screening and background checks, including fingerprinting
